This weekend

Our 70th Season kicks off in bumper fashion tomorrow at Heffron Park, with all 3 teams in action back to back.

First up at 11am, the Men’s All-Age 3 team take on last years champions, Easts Old Boys Union FC, and boosted by some fresh faces and plenty of enthusiasm, the thirds should give a good account of themselves.

The Men’s Championship teams welcome ESFA newcomers, Sydney CBD FC – the reserves kicking off at 1pm and the first grade at 3pm.
CBD have come from the Sydney Amateur League, and despite this being only their third season in existence, have a strong support structure and are a well organised club.
Not a lot is known about their team and while preseason results against other ESFA clubs haven’t always gone their way, we know that preseason results don’t count for much.
We’ve picked up a good mix of youth and experience in our new players, and we’ve seen them integrate pretty well with the existing squad through preseason – hopefully we can get out of the blocks quickly tomorrow!

All up, we should see an cracking days football, and if you can find the time to pop down to Heffron and lend the lads some support, they’d be very grateful.

The BBQ will be firing with snags being supplied again this year by Something Nice Foods, so come along and get involved.
